Is Satan ‘Sin personified’?
Have you noticed that ‘The Devil’ and ‘Satan’ does not get mentioned at all when Paul deals with the cause…
Riverdove is a small non-denominational Christian Community in Lismore (NSW). We are united together by the life and message of Jesus ‘the Christ’ (i.e ‘the King’). Through the victory of King Jesus, (the ‘much-loved son’ of God his Father) Love, Grace, Life and Peace have been poured out abundantly to humankind, and every person is invited into a reconciled relationship with ‘The Father’. We are actually offered the privilege of being adopted as the sons and daughters of the ever-living God! Through Jesus, we can become the children of God and we can become heirs to all that belongs to ‘Our Father’.
This is the common basis of our community and it brings life, peace, joy and purpose to our lives now, while also giving us a sure hope for the future.
As a community, we seek to help others also find Faith, Freedom and Family in Jesus The King!
“See what an incredible quality of love the Father has shown to us, that we would be permitted to be named and called and counted the children of God! And so we are!” – 1 John 3:1 (AMP)
“You no longer have to live as a slave because you are a child of God. And since you are His child, God guarantees an inheritance is waiting for you!” – Galatians 4:7 (VOICE)
Quoted from Romans 8:23-25 (NCV)
“I (God) will receive you, and I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters” – 2 Corinthians 6:18 (WNT)
“Those who put their trust in his (Jesus) person and power he (Jesus) gave the right to become children of God” – John 1:12 (CJB)
“The Son (Jesus) is the oldest among a vast family of brothers and sisters who will become just like him” – Romans 8:29 (TPT)
“We wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children, including the new bodies he has promised us” – Romans 8:23 (NLT)
“Everyone who has this hope purifies himself just as Jesus is pure” – 1 John 3:2-3 (EHV)

Bible Passage: Gospel of Luke Chapter 10
The One Necessary Thing
The small story of Jesus visiting Mary and Martha is tucked…
We feel privileged to belong to ‘the Community’ (ie. ‘the Church’ – literally meaning ‘those called to assemble together’) of Jesus Christ and understand that we are a small part of a vast number of people worldwide (and in the history of the last 2000 years), who have been gathered together by The Father into His Son, Jesus Christ. (And into the family of God). Like citizens called to an important public meeting, we see ourselves (by the invitation of the gospel message) called to meet together in ‘one place’ – even in the person of Jesus himself! In the meeting place of Jesus, we find untold blessings, beyond human comprehension… not just in this life but in the future life to come!
We believe that the Community of Jesus Christ consists of all genuine believers in Christ everywhere. For this reason, some have called it ‘the invisible church’ because it is obvious that it cannot be made up of any particular denomination and that those who truly belong to ‘the Community of Jesus Christ’ (that he is building and is the head of) are only known by the Lord Jesus himself.
“But God’s truth stands firm like a great rock, and nothing can shake it. It is a foundation stone with these words written on it: “The Lord knows those who are really his,” and “A person who calls himself a Christian should not be doing things that are wrong” – 2 Timothy 2:19 (TLB)
“Not everyone who keeps saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will get into the kingdom from heaven, but only the person who keeps doing the will of my Father in heaven”
– Jesus – Matthew 7:21 (ISV)
Riverdove is simply a name that we have chosen to identify ourselves as a local expression of the worldwide community of Jesus Christ.
We seek to hold our name very loosely as we find our identity in our Lord Jesus Christ and in belonging to his community. We claim to be nothing more than a group of Christians trying to be faithful to the message of the Bible and seeking to follow Jesus Christ a best as we can.
We are a community that seeks to give our allegiance to King Jesus. We identify ourselves as ‘servants of the king’, but also understand that we have in actual fact been invited to also be the ‘friends and family of the King’!
We seek to function together as part of the family of God in this place, remaining always conscious that we belong to a very big family that goes way beyond ourselves! We view it as a great privilege to belong to the Community of Jesus Christ and in it, we feel blessed to be ‘the children of God’.
Because we belong to The Family, The Kingdom and The Community of The Father and His Son we receive the love and care of their presence and power in our lives – even the loving guidance of The Sanctifying (Holy) Spirit.
“We are confident that God is able to orchestrate everything to work toward something good and beautiful when we love Him and accept His invitation to live according to His plan” – Rom 8:28 (VOICE)
In 2020 (before Covid), we met every Sunday at the Tregeagle Community Hall. In 2021 we have relocated to the heart of Lismore for our Sunday get-together. Please go to our connect page for more details!
You will be warmly welcomed!
