Inspired By King Jesus

King Jesus walked freely showing love, care, compassion, kindness and guidance to everyone he met. There was no one who wasn’t good enough for him.

What he taught allows and encourages me to engage, learn and apply in my life.

In him, I don’t need to prove myself. I have so much freedom!

He came to free me from the idea that everything has to be impressive, successful, efficient, useful, noticeable and measurable. He came to free me from the idea that production, achievement and accomplishment are God’s highest ideals for my life.

He invites me to jump in and follow him right where I am, I don’t need to have everything figured out first!

He frees me to embrace whatever is true, good and beautiful, wherever I find it.

He inspires me to not get caught up in negativity, to grow up and own my path.
He teaches me to live without worry,
He teaches me to forgive,
He teaches me to celebrate instead of compare!
He teaches me that I belong to him, there was and is nothing I can do to earn that!
He teaches me that growing and changing is a positive thing, I don’t need to look back on my past feeling annoyed or ashamed. Instead, I can feel gratitude for everything I’ve learnt and the ways I’ve grown.

He teaches me to love, genuinely love, with my whole heart.

In King Jesus, there is no ‘us’ and ‘them’, no labels, groups, tribes and denominations. He was showing us a new and unconventional way to order things. A way where everyone was included.

He came to destroy the dividing walls between us so that it could become, ‘Christ in me’, ‘Christ in you’, ‘Christ in all of us’!

We are all one in him!

“The world may tell us we’re too much and never enough.
But we can walk wildly in who God created us to be and rest freely in the work Jesus did for us.
We do not have to be confined or conformed by cultural expectations.
We are unchained from our past and unafraid of our future.
We choose compassion over comparison.
We love without condition, without reserve.
Our eyes are on God; we hold nothing back; we run fast and strong; we do not hide our light.
We aren’t wild and free for our sake alone; rather we sing life, hope and truth over the world with abandon – just as our God sings over us.
We are wild and free.
And we are poised to do mighty things,
In Christ alone.” | An excerpt from the book ‘Wild and Free’ by Jess Connolly and Hayley Morgan
