A Message of Love

We love Him, because He first loved us.” I John 4: 7-20

A Message of Love: Jesus loves you, and you and you and you.

The Bible is full of it – love. The Bible is written about love. Our salvation is hinged on LOVE. Because Christ loved us so much, he died for us. He doesn’t ask much in return – he only asks that we show the same love to each other.

It was the greatest commandment of Christ – to love one another as HE loves us. It also says in Colossians 3:14, “above everthing, put on love, it is the bond of perfection.” In 1 Corinthians 13:13 we read, “..faith, hope and love but the greatest of these is love!”

Tragically, it is what is most often missed or overlooked or even forgotten. For some reason, people would rather dwell on the hate, disappointment, loss, bad experiences, rules, doctrine, self-loathing (“because I’m not good enough”) when God tells you, all you need is love (yes, it’s a Beatles song!).

It’s natural for us to think that “I’m not good enough, my sin is way too big”. Yay – you’re mortal like the rest of us! We are, of ourselves, never going to be good enough and the good news is, the all-knowing Creator of the universe took that into account. His answer to you:

Mygrace is sufficient for you, my strength is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9.

“What’s the point of dying for a righteous person?” God demonstrates His love towards us that “while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” Romans 5:6-8, Ephesians 2:8, 2 Corinthians 3:5.

“God so loved the world, He gave His only son, that we might have life.” John 3:16

The key to everything is to accept God’s love and share it. He loves you, He chose you and He will save you.

“Who will lay anything to the charge of God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? Is it Christ who died for you? Nothing can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Nothing… Romans 8:33-39

  1. What an incredible message, so simple, but for some reason so hard to fully embrace the truth of it sometimes. Thanks for your thoughts Maddison!
